About the Role

The Waiter is responsible for displaying highest standards of hospitality by taking orders and serving food & beverages to guests as per the hotel’s standards in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • To greet guests and to present them with the menu.
  • To inform guests about the special items of the day and about menu changes, if any.
  • To be able to suggest food and beverages to the guests and also, to try to upsell.
  • To take food and beverage orders from the guests on the order-taking pads or on the handheld Point of sale (POS) system.
  • To obtain revenues, to issue receipts, to accept payments and to return the change. 
  • To perform basic cleaning tasks as needed.
  • To fill-in for absent staff as needed.
  • To input the order on the POS machine and to ensure that the special requirements made by the guest while ordering the food is entered, e.g., no garlic, less spicy, without egg etc.
  • To communicate with the guests and to provide assistance with their queries.
  • To coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
  • To serve food and beverages to the guests as per the course of order.
  • To observe guests and to ensure their satisfaction with the food and service.
  • To promptly respond to guests having any additional request.
  • To maintain proper dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses. 
  • To reset tables after guests’ meals so as to accommodate next seating.
  • To properly open and pour wine at the tableside. 
  • To consistently adhere to grooming and appearance standards. 
  • To be able to communicate products and services available at the resort.
  • To assist with stocking and maintaining the restaurant stock levels and side station.
  • To help in other areas of the restaurant such as answering telephones and completing financial transactions.


About you

The desired qualification for this role is at least a School Certificate and a National Certificate Level 3 in Restaurant and Bar Service. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in the same role in an international ultra-luxury resort and must be fluent in written and spoken English and French.
