About The Role
As Operations Manager in Banquets you will manage the day-to-day running of the banqueting operation to ensure that best practices are being followed and are consistent with company SOP’s and policies. You will be responsible for the full year planning and execution of all operational responsibilities of events held at the banquet venues at Atlantis The Royal, which includes all financial planning, staff hiring and development, equipment management, event planning, liaising with all support departments and creating exceptional guest experiences for all clients.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations of the functions across all events function spaces across Atlantis The Royal and report back to the Director of Banquets and Special Events
- Assist in preparing/consolidating the yearly budget for the department and in preparing the monthly income statement, create monthly forecasts with the Director of Banquets.
- Manage the consolidated inventory of the Banquet department’s OS&E together with the Stewarding department.
- Attend and actively contribute to all relevant staff meetings and hotel trainings.
- Attend and conduct daily operation briefings with the managers in the absence of the Food and Beverage Manager/Director.
- Monitor and constantly improve quality and guest satisfaction with the given tools (Forbes, IFH Mystery Shopper, Trip Advisor, Lobster Ink.)
- Handling guests complain.
- Assist the Director of Banquets in preparing a yearly sales & business plan cooperation with the culinary department including a competitor analysis.
- Be updated with the local and global MICE trends.
- Be actively involved in the operations of the appointed functions to ensure regular guest contact.
- Ensure all rules and regulations are strictly established and adhered within the hotel including hotel’s policy on fire and safety as well as hygiene regulations including ISO.
- To ensure that all colleague activities comply to and support the Quality Standards.
- Always provide a professional and courteous service in line with Forbes 5* guidelines and ensure that all employees follow the example.
- Ensure that all cost is in line with the budget without compromising quality.
- Manage a very high standard of all casual staff utilized in the operation.
- Foster innovation and new ideas and implement the same in the department or appointed outlets.
About You
We are looking for candidates with solid background in large scale banquets operations within a luxury environment. You should have 3-5 years’ experience in managerial capacity in complex high volume events operations and comfortably manage large teams. To succeed in this role, you should be confident to deal with peers and stakeholders at all levels, empowering others to make decisions. You will demonstrate sincere and dependable attitude while working for high end clients in a high-pressure environment. Creating bench marketable product standards and having good acumen on new worldwide market trends is expected from this position.
